Her hair transforms into trees, symbolising forests as extensions of her body rather than resources to be extracted. Animals gather around Gaia, seeking shelter and protection. Their closeness reflects a world where wildlife is increasingly pushed to the margins, displaced by animal agriculture, monocultures, pesticides, and the expansion of agricultural land. In her hands, Gaia gently holds an elephant, a powerful symbol of biodiversity under threat, highlighting how even the most resilient species now depend on human care and responsibility for survival.
The composition emphasizes interdependence: when forests are cleared and ecosystems simplified for efficiency and profit, the richness of life diminishes. Gaia’s protective gesture is an act of resistance, urging viewers to reconsider systems of extensive farming that prioritize yield over balance. The illustration invites reflection on how nurturing biodiversity is not an abstract environmental goal, but a moral obligation to protect the living body of the Earth itself.
This original is part of the Luna Lunatic, the Intergalactic Dog collection. Luna Lunatic, the Intergalactic Dog, a character created in 2024, is a dog that travels around the universe in her spaceship, the Starhopper SOM1, in search of cosmic adventures. Luna lands on intriguing planets with some challenges to face and despite her cluelessness, Luna manages to change things for better always.
TENDER CONTEMPLATION – 2024 COLLECTION
Tender Contemplation is a collection of works inspired by colours, shapes, flowers, leaves, birds in soft and oil pastels, colouring pencils, watercolour, collage, and acrylic paint. It portrays the beauty of simple things. The intention in each work is to elevate the spirit and take the spectator to that cozy time and place in memory, like a childhood moment when looking at grandma’s table with fresh-cut flowers or listening to a bird chirping on the fence on a calm rainy day.
